Also known as the pygmy or Malabar pufferfish, these are the smallest freshwater pufferfish in the world. Only available in the past few years, they are a highly sought after addition to species specific nano tanks. The diet of pea puffers includes invertebrates especially those with a hard shell, which allows them to grind down their constantly growing teeth. This means that snails are their favorite food and should be fed to them regularly. Depending on the fish and tank size, these puffers are usually kept on their own or with caution in a community tank.
